 Functional ovarian cysts

  • Usually don't require treatment 

      

 Other ovarian cysts   

 

  • Surgery: May be needed if the cyst is large, persistent, or causing symptoms 

  •  

  • Hormonal therapy: May be recommended to prevent future cysts 

  •  

  • Birth control pills: May be prescribed to reduce the risk of developing new cysts 

  •  

  • Medication: NSAIDs like ibuprofen and ketorolac can treat mild to moderate pain 

  •  

  • Home remedies: Chamomile tea may help with cramping and anxiety
